Blogger Style Notes- Cue Dress, Wittner Heels (please excuse lilly white winter legs!!)

Every time someone mentions the return of floral to fashion I get a little excited.Floral is the pinnacle of feminine dressing, well in my eyes anyhow. Floral has had a bad rap over the years and I can understand why. Floral can be really unsightly, even ugly. Bohemian floral fashion can be beautiful but looking like your attending a 1970’s fancy dress party in floral is not so great.

Floral at its best is beautiful, feminine and ridiculously pretty. Floral is usually reserved for the warmer months however I found this gorgeous floral dress worn to perfection in what appears to be a chilly Parisian day at this year’s Paris Fashion Week (fashion and being cold notoriously go together). I also have a serious shopping crush on this Karen Millen embroidered white floral number. I got all excited and donned my favourite floral dress in anticipation of the coming warmer weather. I bought my treasured number from Cue 2 years ago (actually my husband bought it as a surprise) and it’s still one of my must loved wardrobe pieces.

So how do we make our beloved floral prints current?

Simply linesthink shifts, cinched waists and clean cuts.

Keep floral simple- think pared back make up such as a sheer foundation, a bright lip and hint of mascara teamed with loose hair.

Accessorize modestly and “modern-ly”- pair floral with a chunky tan wedge or a mod style patent bright ankle boot. Keep jewellery minimal and don’t even think about accessorising floral with intricate floral jewellery, eek style disaster!!!!
